Changes to the way you book appointments

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT A Message From The GP Partners of Longfield Medical Centre Changes to the way you book appointments In order to improve access and increase appointment availability, we will be piloting an online booking service from Monday 6th November 2023. This means that in order to request appointments with a GP / Clinician, you will now be required to use the PATCHS website rather than call reception. This service is also available for pre-booking non-urgent appointments, repeat medication requests, and submitting administrative queries. Please note that the way to book Practice Nurse, Health Care Assistant and medication review appointments will not be changing at this point. To register and use PATCHS, click the link on the front page of our website. https://www.longfieldmedicalcentre.nhs.uk You will need to complete a PATCHS online registration form to enable you to submit requests. This is a quick and easy process that provides you with an instant registration status. The new pilot system means that all appointment requests will be reviewed by a senior clinician in the first instance, who will then either offer advice, information for self help, or, if needed, an appointment with a suitable healthcare professional within an appropriate timefra me. By piloting this system, we will be able to make a significant increase to the number of appointments we are able to offer, and are confident that it will make a positive improvement to access for our patients. Our reception team will no longer be permitted to book appointments directly, however our telephone lines will remain open for those without internet facilities. If you do have online access, then you will be required to access our services independently online. We ask that you please do not contact our reception team to check if your request has been received, as they do not have the ability to do this. Some of the key benefits of using PATCHS: • It is available between the hours of 7.00am - 6.30pm, allowing you to submit your request at a time that is convenient for you, without the need to phone reception. Please note requests for appointments will be available until the capacity has been reached. PATCHS will also advise you when it is due to open again for clinical requests. • It is quick and easy to access, and it only takes a couple of minutes to complete the form. • This pilot will make the process of requesting appointments more efficient and our clinicians may be able to offer immediate assistance to our patients. For example, with a text message or by referring you directly to the service most appropriate for you.
